What is EuroJackpot?

EuroJackpot is a pan-European transnational lottery launched in March 2012 as a rival to EuroMillions. Operated by a consortium of 18 European national lotteries, it uses a format virtually identical to EuroMillions — 5 main numbers from 1–50 plus 2 Euro Numbers from 1–12 — but is managed from Helsinki, Finland.

EuroJackpot is now the fastest-growing lottery in Europe, having expanded from 8 countries at launch to 18 participating countries by 2022. A second weekly draw (Tuesday) was added in March 2022 alongside the original Friday draw. Maximum jackpot is capped at €120 million — lower than EuroMillions but with identical odds.

💡 EuroJackpot vs EuroMillions: Both use 5/50 + 2/12 formats with identical odds of 1 in 139.8M. The key difference: EuroJackpot's cap is €120M vs EuroMillions' €250M. However EuroJackpot has more participating countries (18 vs 9) and a slightly higher minimum jackpot start (€10M vs €17M). Both are available to Australian players via concierge.

How to Play EuroJackpot — Step by Step
1

Choose Your 5 Main Numbers

Select 5 numbers from 1 to 50. Each number has an equal probability of being drawn. Use your favourites, choose a Lucky Dip, or use SmartLotto's AI prediction systems.

2

Choose Your 2 Euro Numbers

Select 2 Euro Numbers from 1 to 12. These are drawn from a completely separate barrel and are required for the top 9 of 12 prize tiers.

3

Select Lines & Draws

Enter a single line or multiple lines. Choose one draw or multiple draws. Tuesday and Friday draws are independent — entering both draws doubles your weekly chances.

4

Purchase Your Ticket

Available from authorised lottery retailers in 18 participating countries, online via participating national lottery websites, or via Australian-approved lottery concierge services.

5

Watch the Draw — Tuesday & Friday

Draws take place at 8:00 PM CET (Helsinki) every Tuesday and Friday. Results published online and via SmartLotto immediately after each draw.

6

Claim Your Prize

Non-jackpot prizes are paid automatically via your ticket provider. Jackpot prizes require prize claim coordination with the national lottery of the country where your ticket was purchased.

🌏 Playing from Australia: EuroJackpot is available to Australian players via authorised lottery concierge services. SmartLotto tracks all draws and provides predictions, statistics and results for Australian players.
🔴
Euro Numbers — The Second Barrel

Euro Numbers function identically to EuroMillions' Lucky Stars. They are drawn from a separate barrel of 12 balls (numbered 1–12), independent of the main 50-ball draw. You must select 2 Euro Numbers per entry, and they are required to win 9 of the 12 prize divisions.

Because both EuroJackpot and EuroMillions use 5/50 + 2/12 formats, SmartLotto's prediction algorithms — including the Cherry Pick Engine and QME — can be applied directly to EuroJackpot draw history with the same methodology used for EuroMillions.

🔴 Euro Number Strategy: With only 12 Euro Numbers in the pool, SmartLotto's frequency and skip analysis is particularly effective — each number appears roughly every 6 draws on average. SmartLotto tracks EuroJackpot Euro Number history alongside main ball statistics.
💰
Prize Divisions & Odds

EuroJackpot has 12 prize divisions. The minimum jackpot starts at €10M. The cap is €120M — once reached, the jackpot is won at that level or cascades to Division 2.

Jackpot Cap & Rollover Rules

📊 Jackpot Scale

Minimum Jackpot Start
€10M
Typical Large Rollover
€60M+
Maximum Cap
€120M
  • Jackpot starts at a guaranteed minimum of €10 million every draw
  • Maximum jackpot cap is €120 million
  • Once the cap is reached and not won, the jackpot must be won at Division 2 level or below
  • 12 prize divisions — more tiers than EuroMillions, making smaller prizes more frequent
  • All EuroJackpot prizes are paid as a tax-free lump sum in most participating countries
  • Australian winners receive prizes via their authorised concierge operator
💰 12 Prize Tiers vs 13 for EuroMillions: EuroJackpot and EuroMillions have virtually identical formats and odds, but EuroJackpot's lower cap (€120M vs €250M) means jackpots roll over and are won more frequently — making it a better option for players who prefer consistent jackpot wins over record-breaking accumulations.
